Just posting this to discuss the first episode of The Premise. What does everyone think?

I took it as absurdist comedy with some things to say. Which was hard to pull off given the seriousness of the subject matter. But I think they actually did it.
It poked fun at white SJWs that want to be the most visible ally they can be, but plumbed the depths of that sincerity. Like are they willing to help if it doesn’t bolster their public image as an an ally. He chose to actually help knowing he’d get no public gratitude or even personal gratitude from the accused. Is “doing the right thing” still your choice if you get no gold stars for doing it?

social anxiety and meditation and sex

I didn't accept myself as shy and I didn't identify my anxieties since last april when I had a panick attack and quit drugs/drinking and started yoga.
I suffered from lack of sleep, lack of apetite, depression in general.
I've been doing yoga 5times/week and I love it, I've also been meditating 2times/week for 10 minutes or so.
Today I have a date with a girl, and just the idea of me meeting her made me feel very anxious. Before I've had moments of anxieties during sex that would lead to premature ejaculation. I understood that I've been like this since my first date with a girl (when I was 10, now I'm 22).
I didn't sleep during night well just a little maybe 3 hours in total if you sum everything up. I tried keeping a positive attitude, tried focusing on the breath, I let my body go (as in shavasana), when zoning out to sleep once i shook and woke up (like a spasm), the other times i just fell asleep.
I saw a psychologue back home and we arrived in the conclusion that this is some child trauma I had when I was 2 where my parents "abandoned" me at my grandparents to not ever see them again for a year or so and I've been crying regularly for a couple of months at the time.
Well meddit, i just wanted to take this off my chest and to know if you guys have had similar experiences and how you dealt with them?

Do you like going on dates? It sounds like kind of an ordeal. Do you feel like you have to date, or should do it? If so, isn't that kind of pressure itself something that causes anxiety? The need to "perform," to get something out of it, to be attractive, funny, whatever.
What if you could go meet the girl with fewer expectations and desires? Like, if all you're aiming for is a halfway decent memory of a conversation with a new person. You don't have to dazzle her and marry her, she doesn't have to love you immediately. You can just hang out for a while, drink some coffee and talk about some random stuff. It's okay.
I think a good date involves letting your guard down. So that it's not a meeting of two people trying to impress each other. That's no fun, just nerve-wrecking.
If you can't find some modicum of peace and relaxation about dating, it's perfectly okay to not do it for a while, to purposefully lay off it and just focus on other stuff (e.g., yoga and meditation and other good stuff).

My sociology teacher says that gender is socially constructed. Is this true?

She has said that biological arguments are easily disproved, and that gender is a social construct with no inherent basis in human neurology. How true is this?

It depends on how she is using the word gender. Many differientiate between sex and gender with sex being the biological basis of division and gender being the socially constructed basis of division. For example, you could be a woman sex wise but you could dress and "pass" as a man socially, although it's not easily done. In this sense there is a difference between "transgender" and "transexual", where someone who is transgendered has switched from their "default" gender (e.g. crossdressing) and someone who is transexual has or is in the process of medical procedures to change their sexual organs/secondary sex characteristics (e.g. beards, brests).
If she is using gender in this sense then it is socially constructed by definition. If however she is a radical feminists/social constructivist and she is using it to refer to gender/sex divisions generally, then certainly no.
As a general rule, whenever anyone tells you that something is 100% socially constructed or 100% biologically predetermined, they are categorically wrong, and they usually have some political motive behind their claim.
